Encouraging little ones to help around the house

Iv'e always taught my children at a young age to clean up after themselves because in my eyes a clean house makes a happy mama.

I have a 5 year old, 3 year old and 2 year old.

At the end of the day we do a routine speed clean, My 5 year old likes to work off a timer.

I go onto YouTube and just type in kids clean up timer and give 10 minutes for the speed clean.

Every morning i have them make their beds, Pick all dirty clothes up and put them in the dirty laundry hamper in the laundry room.

Since my kids are different ages i have them do different things for instance my 5 year old gets to feed the dogs which he enjoys so much.

My 3 year old likes to use the vacuum so i have her do that.

My 2 year old is great at picking up toys and placing them back in their homes where they belong.

You always have to find what works for you and your little's.

When i started this i just went on google and looked up age appropriate "chores" for my kids ages.

No kid wants to clean though i promise that so to help boost them to clean i started a reward system.

Iv'e noticed that if we fill a jar with little papers that have one duty each on them it makes it more fun.

Same for our reward system, If they do all of their duties for the week on Friday they get to pull one paper out of the jar for a reward.

Your rewards don't have to be about spending money either.

I Listed such simple things such as....

Pick dinner for a night

Pick a movie for our family to watch with popcorn

Date with mommy or daddy

Piece of candy

Ice cream bar

Trip to the park

This seems to be what works best for us because it leaves those little minds curious on what they will receive every time they pull a little paper out.
