Eh, Scary topic! Christmas just passed and now your house is overloaded with all those new toys.
Did you know a child gets overstimulated when there is too many toys?
Kids are just like adults for instance i can not for the life of me deal with clutter, It makes my body go in shut down mode and at that point i'm just wanting to throw the whole house away.
Imagine having 100+ pairs of shoes in a tight fitted space with them thrown every where. Makes you want to scream because you cant even process which pair your going to wear for the day and at that point your mind is racing.
That is how a child's mind works when it comes to toys. They see all those small pieces, Big pieces, New toys, Old toys etc.Which one do they even play with due to having soooo many.
Here is how i cleared that clutter and overload of toys up...
McDonald toys...Yes if your a parent than you know exactly what i'm talking about. Throw them away!
Watch what your kids play with the most...Take one whole day and observe them playing. Are they playing with old or new ones? I myself have seen my kids not even playing with what Santa just brought 2 weeks ago.
If they still have toys from a year ago and don't even touch them then its time to get rid of them.
I took 3 totes and wrote donate, Keep and trash on each one.
I then sat down and went through EVERY SINGLE TOY we owned. By the time i was done i could then see why my kids come in the kitchen and play with empty water bottles and other items because they couldn't even figure out what toy to play with at this point.
Sit down with your child and even ask them what toys they'd like to get rid of and donate to other kids that aren't as fortunate. My 5 year old loves to give other kids toys he doesn't like or want anymore as he grows.
Lots of times kids like to have control on some things so let this be a chance for them to do that and for you to eliminate some of that clutter in your beautiful home :)
